Had a few moments here and there today as I made my normal Friday work rounds. A few highlights:
Windsor Lake(Weld)- Caspian Tern-1
Forster'a Tern-4
Environmental Learning Center
Cassin's Kingbird-1-on bike trail towards Prospect Ponds.
American Redstart-1 male on bike path 50 yards north of parking lot
Dusky Flycatcher singing in a really great flock of birds that included a Hairy Woodpecker, Bullock's Orioles, Western Tanagers, Lazuli Buntings, Cedar Waxwings, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Chipping Sparrows, Swainson's Thrushes, Eastern Kingbirds, Western Wood-Pewees, American Goldfinches, Black-capped Chickadees and a Yellow-breasted Chat. It was a bird buffet for a while. They were clearly riding out the storm together.
Lee Martinez Park
Ovenbird-2 both singing in the woodsy patch next to the Museum of Discovery. Awesome looks.
Northern Waterthrush-1-same spot, sang twice. Great looks.
American Pipit-8-was pleasantly surprised by these guys.
All of these at Lee Martinez were between 430-5pm this evening.
Good birding all!
