Remember to join us tomorrow Sunday, September 19th at 7pm for an online workshop on how to identify Colorado’s sparrows by Andy Bankert.

Register for the free online workshop today: https://tinyurl.com/CFO-sparrows

Sparrows are famous for being difficult to identify in part because many blend in so well with their weedy habitats and in part because of their shy skulking habits. Their small size and cryptic plumage further complicate their identification. They can be abundant fall migrants in Colorado, where many of the North American species occur. Andy will review key characteristics of plumage and voice that will aid in identification.2021Sept_BankertSparrows_PromoSlide.png

Andy Bankert grew up in Central Florida and has traveled across the country searching for and studying birds. He has worked with grassland birds throughout the Great Plains, counted seabirds from research vessels in the Pacific Ocean, and found nesting shorebirds across the Alaskan tundra.  While Andy currently works with birds nesting on Alaska's North Slope, he has ties to Colorado where he received his Master's Degree at Colorado State University and helped document the first Baird's Sparrow nest in Colorado in 2018.

This workshop is free and open to everyone. You will need to register to get the Zoom link sent to you.
