Bullocks oriole, Arapahoe County

I was shocked to look up and see a bullock’s oriole, trying desperately to get through the cage around my birdfeeder to get food. I went out as quickly as possible and took the cage off. He came back and gobbled down a fair amount of food, and then left. I put some jelly out for him, but haven’t seen him back.

I’ve never seen a bullocks oriole here so I was amazed to see him. Hopefully he’ll get enough food to get him on his way south!
