We saw our first Chipping Sparrow of the fall going to our (rather dilapidated) water feature this afternoon.
We also have a family of White-breasted Nuthatches buzzing around the yard, a passel of junior Spotted Towhees, and a family or two of Black-headed Grosbeaks. A Yellow Warbler continues to sing in a copse in the gully of Willow Creek, and we continuously hear several Lesser Goldfinches there.
