Common species such as Lark Sparrows and Yellow Warblers are having a very productive breeding year. While Lark Sparrows are in dryer shrub habitat, all the rains have provided excellent habitat and lots of small insects. Yellow Warblers have been fledging youngsters for several weeks along riparian locations such as the Canon City Riverwalk. I got a few good pics of recent fledgling Yellow Warblers and their dad that I have uploaded to my
Birds and Nature blog---good thing the male parent was there feeding them as they are otherwise fat-little-fledglings that would be otherwise a real challenge to id.
