This morning was extremely dewy and cold, and although many birds were vocalizing we did not catch birds until the 2nd and 3rd net rounds. Some highlights for an eastern birder included a Calliope Hummingbird and Rufous Hummingbird in the net, and we also had two new species for the season: a Cassin's Kingbird and Western Flycatcher. Birdcast by Cornell is predicting high migration intensity for tomorrow so fingers crossed we get a lot of migrants. One of our volunteers also painted a Lazuli bunting in hopes that I will catch one!
