Birding around Winter Park?

I'm from Arkansas and I'll be in Winter Park Dec 27-31 for a bit of skiing. I'm wondering if there's any decent birding just walking around Winter Park or Fraser. I see there is a Fraser River Trail that runs from WP to Fraser but I don't know if that is accessible by foot in the winter. I'll likely just have a few hours one afternoon but I'm looking to see some new birds if I can. Any suggestions/advice?
