Few Cranes Arriving at MVNWR

So in the last week or so, people have reported small groups of cranes in the San Luis Valley (Alamosa and Rio Grande Counties). We are still snow-covered and there is no open water at the Refuge, but that should change in these next few days.

I just returned from Bosque doing some photography and managed to spot 2 leucistic cranes among the thousands down there. We may have to watch for these birds showing up here in the next few weeks.
