Nighthawk vs Woodcock

Birders,

I received several comments from birders about the possibility that Tammy heard a woodcock rather than a nighthawk and perhaps at dusk if I went to where she heard the bird I may hear it if it was a woodcock.

We did go back but didn't hear anything similar.  I may try again in the morning. 

After discussing the call that she heard, Tammy most likely did hear a woodcock this morning.

Unfortunately there isn't any good habitat near Alameda and Union that I would stake out in the morning. 

Another one of those non-reproducible birds.
