to Colorado Birds
Hi all - Just saw what I think is a Bonaparte's gull on Lake McIntosh in Longmont: Unfortunately, all I had with me was a pair of 10 X 25 lightweight binoculars, so... no pix. I'll go back out now with better gear and see if the bird is still there. From the SE shore of lake McIntosh, near the aluminum monument, if you look to the north you might see the bird flying around. Here's what I noticed: slightly smaller than a Ring-billed gull, similar gray mantle, bright red/pink feet, upper wing from the elbow to the tip of the primaries was an elongated V-shaped whitish band. If I manage a photo I'll post it here.
