Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Lake Banding Report, 8/31/26

This is my report for Sunday (today was our day off).

It was cooler yesterday, and the Wilson's Warblers were back in force.  We caught a total of 50 new birds, plus had another Yellow Warbler return - He was banded as an adult in 2020, which makes him at least 7 years old, a fairly long-lived YEWA (but almost a youngster compared with the 11 year old we caught last spring at Chatfield!)

We are open Tuesday through Saturday, weather permitting, through October 23.  Most weekday mornings there is a visitor session from 7:30 to 8:30, and on the weekends there are sessions at 8, 9 and 10 a.m.  Reservations are needed; here is the link.   Please join us......It looks like it will be a great year to visit Barr!
