Red-breasted Merganser and Barrow's Goldeneys, South Platte near 88th, Adams Co

A DFO field trip this morning found 28 Red-breasted Mergansers on the Thornton Gravel Pond near 99th and Colorado Blvd.

On the river between 88th and the small dam were at least two male Barrow’s Goldeneyes. (Both species were spotted by Burke Angstman.)

Also along the river was a Harlan’s Red-tailed Hawk.
