Bird Conservancy of the Rockies Chico Banding Station-May 4, 2023

Banding began with a rain delay but not many birds ventured to the banding station grove of trees this day. I heard from birders that the birds were down at HQ pond willows including many Yellow-rumped Warblers. Water does tend to attract more birds. First of the season bird was the Brown Thrasher.

Yellow-rumped Warbler (Myrtle subspecies)- 1

House Wren- 3

Chipping Sparrow- 10

Clay-colored Sparrow- 1

Brewer's Sparrow- 1

Spotted Towhee- 3

Brown Thrasher- 1

The Banding Station will be operating this week everyday through Saturday from sunrise to @11:00AM. Stop on by if you are in the area.
