Birders,
Here is a follow up to my earlier post.  After I posted, I lost track of the YB Loon for a while.  I and David and Sharon went to the spit and we relocated it much farther west than where I first saw it.  It was in Jeffco at that point.  It then moved to the east and much closer over the next 45 - 60 minutes and I got some almost decent shots (not near as good as those previously posted) that I will try and post later on smugmug.
While we were watching the YB Loon, Patrick spotted 2 birds behind it and those turned out to be 2 Common Loons.  They also got much closer.  I left at about 3 pm and the YB Loon was moving into the Plum Creek Delta area and the Common Loons were headed west.

Hello Ira,

Congratulations on the Yellow-billed Loon photos.  Tomorrow, Jane Stulp and I are planning a trip from Lamar to Chatfield to hopefully see this great bird which be a lifer for both, so cross your fingers for us!  We appreciate the updates as we are not terribly familiar with the Chatfield area; if you are out tomorrow and see it again, we will be checking COBIRDs regularly.  Look forward to seeing your pictures. Thanks again for the updates.

Ira, and everyone who has posted about this bird - thank your for continuing to do so!  My wife and I saw the bird yesterday (as I posted - :)) and, largely, it was because people kept updating about location, times, etc.  While it may seem a little repetitive day after day, it's definitely worth it for those of us who don't get out right away to see it.

This was a lifer for us as well, and a much appreciated one.  Thanks, too, to the two unidentified ladies who looked for the bird for two hours before we got there and found it within about 3 minutes of our arrival!
