Wilson's Warblers are driving the number of birds caught, and keeping the total number of birds unusually high in the early days of this season.  

Another good day, with 52 birds banded.  I should note that we also caught our second return Yellow Warbler - a bird banded in a prior year (2023).  Finally, we had a whopping 23 repeats - birds caught previously this season (mostly WIWAs and YEWAs).  So, the total birds caught today was 76 - three cheers for our volunteers who spend the morning getting birds out of the nets!!

We are open Tuesday through Saturday, weather permitting, through October 23.  Most weekday mornings there is a visitor session from 7:30 to 8:30, and on the weekends there are sessions at 8, 9 and 10 a.m.  Reservations are needed; here is the link.   Please join us......It looks like it will be a great year to visit Barr!
