Update on Scissor-tailed Flycatcher south of Florence

On Thursday the owner of the property on which the nest tree is located let me know that the neighbor to the west had been hosting a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, thought to be the male (that is more almost a half mile west of the highway, behind a locked gate and not viewable from public access).  Even with this it has been seen intermittently this past week:  Aug 3: I observed the male in and near the nest tree; Aug 4: male seen by two birders, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon; Aug 6:  I looked for the bird for a half hour, left to do other birding but was still not in the area of the nest tree when I drove back at mid-day; Aug 8:  I saw the male perched on line in front of nest tree but it was gone when I turned around and drove back by. 

The female Scissor-tailed Flycatcher has not been seen as far as I can ascertain for 11 days. 

Let me add that the owner of the property on which the nest tree is located told me that someone with binoculars had drove onto their property on the hill a few hundred feet south of the nest tree and parked there for some time earlier this week.  That location is accessed by a dirt drive that goes to another ranch and though there is no fencing there, it is still private property.  Just to make it clear the property owner said it was ok for birders to park in the drive that is north of the nest tree--and that is stated specifically in the Colorado Rare Bird Alert that is posted on this listserve daily.  While certainly not as bad as the fiasco that has just happened in So Texas where birders seeking to see the rare Collared Plover interfered with a farmer's business and delayed him getting his crop sprayed, trespassing on private property of someone who was nice enough to say it was ok to park in their driveway (albeit on the public side) is most disrespectful.
