The Red-necked Grebe Jane Stulp and I found at North Gateway Park in Lamar 2014Nov15, was still on the fishing pond, today.  If you are coming from the north on Highway 287, cross the Arkansas River Bridge, heading south and turn left or east on Crystal Street, which is the street to the Holiday Inn Express.  After the two hotel entrances, take your first left (there will be an old, white fire truck in the lot next to the turn) and follow this road north to the fishing pond. The grebe has been staying to the northwest side of the pond, often in the company of white-faced geese and coots.  The ponds to the east of this one are restricted for viewing.
