Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Lake Banding Report, 9/14/26

Today was really windy at the station area, but down below, just a few feet lower where the nets are, it was calm and cool, and there were plenty of birds.  We again caught a good number of Wilson's Warbler (a mix of hatch years and adults) and the Yellow-rumped Warblers started to show up in numbers.  A nice surprise was a hatch year Blackpoll Warbler, a species rarely caught at this station.  Here's the breakdown of today's 93 new birds. (I'm trying to stay cool; these numbers are pretty extraordinary for us!):
