More Dickcissels Costilla County

Yesterday, I heard the unmistakable buzzy song of the Dickcissel just north of Smith Reservoir (Costilla County). I was driving windows open when I heard it and braked to a stop, backed up and observed 2 birds on a wire singing at each other. This location is on Cty Rd 12 (the road to Smith Reservoir from Hwy 160) and is about 1/2 mile north of the northern most entrance into the Smith Res SWA. On the west side of the road. What a year!
