CFO Convention: Final Countdown

Hi, everybody. We're almost there! The CFO convention welcome picnic gets under way tomorrow evening, Thursday, May 5, at Willow Creek Park in Lamar, where we will be greeted by CFO President Doug Faulkner and Lamar Mayor Roger Stagner, where Mississippi Kites will be sailing on the balmy zephyrs, and where Black-capped Vireos will be singing from the shrubbery by the port-a-potties... Okay, a few items for your final CFO convention flight check:

1. Use #CFOConvention for all social media content. We want to see your photos and stories!

2. Use eBird for your field trips. Duh. But please also consider the option to "share" eBird checklists. Coordinate with your field trip leaders on this matter.

3. Speaking of field trips, please note that all CFO field trip leaders and participants observe the ABA Code of Birding Ethics.

4. Please print out--or, better yet, save a tree, and view on your phone--the abstracts for the Saturday science session. Your convention packet has a one-page overview (names of presenters, titles of presentations, times of presentations), but not the full texts of the abstracts. So go to the CFO convention's science session webpage, and check out the full texts of the abstracts.

5. For general information on the convention, check out the press release in The Prowers Journal and the announcement at the City of Lamar website.
