Hey COBirders,

I, too, was washed out yesterday, and worked through wind today, but North winds are not as much of a problem for me banding at Clear Spring Ranch.

138 birds netted today - 86 of which were from the ubiquitous Chipping Sparrow flocks. (a sample of 11 were banded)

others:
FOS Black-headed Grosbeak (f)
FOS Nashville Warbler (SY male) - only the third I’ve banded at CSR, first in the spring
Lark Sparrow 13
Clay-colored Sparrow 16
Hermit Thrush
Green-tailed Towhee 2
Yellow-breasted Chat (Ad F)
American Robin
Lincoln’s Sparrow 2
Mountain White-crowned Sparrow (SY)
Orange-crowned Warbler (SY M)
Com Yellowthroat (SY M)
Yellow Warbler 5 (SYM2, AD F 2, AD M)
MacGillivray’s Warbler (AD M)
and several Red-winged Blackbirds and Brown-headed Cowbirds netted but not banded

I still haven’t banded any tanagers or orioles, although there was singing Bullock’s out there somewhere this morning

Happy Migration,
Steve Brown
