Bird Conservancy Banding Report Chico Basin Ranch - 9/13/18

Today was a very busy morning of banding after the first two net runs. I banded 72 birds of 12 species. I had an increase in Orange-crowned Warblers and a few empidonax flycatchers were caught after being MIA yesterday. The first Green-tailed Towhee of the season was banded bringing this fall's total up to 35 species.

Here is the summary of newly banded birds for the day:

Wilson's Warbler: 40

Ruby-crowned Kinglet: 2

Western Flycatcher: 2

Orange-crowned Warbler: 12

Hammond's Flycatcher: 1

Western Wood-Pewee: 2

Chipping Sparrow: 1

MacGillivray's Warbler: 2

Clay-colored Sparrow: 1

Lincoln's Sparrow: 6

Green-tailed Towhee: 1

American Robin: 2

You are welcome to visit the banding station. I'll be banding through the first week of October and nets will be open 6 days a week (Monday through Saturday). This week I am opening nets at 6:40 and banding until 11:40 weather permitting.
