Need to Implement Custom Media Player in Cobalt

Hello All,

We plan to implement a custom media player in Cobalt that exposes its media API, allowing us to access these APIs within our HTML5 player. Could you provide a any resource on how to create this custom media player in Cobalt, use its API in an HTML5 player, and run it as an APK on Android TV using Cobalt?

Hi,

If you are looking to get a completely custom Starboard Player, you would need to fully implement SbPlayer interface ( see https://developers.google.com/youtube/cobalt/docs/reference/starboard/modules/16/player ) 

You could likely base your implementation on existing shared player or Android player code. I'd recommend starting with existing Android setup and customize what you need from there.
