I would like to object to Dirtworks operating a landfill on Glenmore Road.

Glenmore Road currently has road works being done on it so traffic is restricted adding trucks to this would further exacerbate the situation.

Glenmore Road comes off the Coatesville Riverhead highway which is right in the middle of the Coatesville Village. This is a known high traffic area which the Dairy, two busy café’s and a mechanic are all around this area along with the Play Centre and Pony club on the entrance of Glenmore Road. Trucks turning onto Glenmore Road will cause much disruption as well as affect the traffic flow on this stretch of road. The traffic volume is increasing in the village due to the Riverhead community increasing from the new housing developments so the denseness of traffic has been felt by the residents of Coatesville. We are still waiting on our dairy entrance to be made safe because of the volume and speed of the traffic, and you want to add large trucks to the equation! Large trucks and trailers are not a good combination next to a make shift dairy fence, protecting the residence in this area.

Dirtworks have proven to be flaunting their consents by dumping more product and falsifying what they are dumping (Sunnyside Road dump site)

Dirtworks currently are dumping on Ridge Road, everything from demolition material from house sites to tar seal, glass, wood, concrete, metals. When I phoned council about this I was told that the consent was for clean fill. Clean fill is not going into this site only covering what is being hidden underneath. Trucks are coming up Wake Road and the Riverhead end of Ridge Road, which is narrow. The trucks have broken the seal on these roads, who pays to have these road re-sealed? They are also too large to drive around some of the corners on Riverhead end of Ridge Road so either mount the kerb or cross the centre line which is a hazard to on coming cars and cyclists, this is a road where we have many cyclist training through the week as well as weekends. Our children also walk along Ridge Road from the bus stop to home. We have no footpaths or space for the children to walk off the roads so adding the danger of large truck is unacceptable as Ridge Road is an 80km speed limit road and Wake Road is an open road, so speed of cars and trucks is also a factor our children have to deal with when walking home. This is also the case on Glenmore Road as much of this road has no footpaths.

As a resident of Ridge Road we were never notified that this dumpsite was happening until we saw the Dirtworks trucks. I also find this unacceptable as dumping this kind waste on any type of land is not environmentally friendly especially near residential properties.

Why is this company continually allowed to dump waste and get away with it?

Why is this company continually allowed to flaunt their consents?

Why is this company continually allowed to dump when they have prior site they need to clean up?
