Hi everyone,

I am writing to ask if anyone else is concerned that the magnificent view to the West from Glenmore Rd, just before Coatesville Heights, may be lost.
It looks as though Mr Glover intends to extend his 2m plus hedge right along his boundary which would mean that any road users, apart from truck drivers, would no longer be able to enjoy it.
When driving in your car, walking, or cycling, there would just be a green wall where there was a breathtaking panorama.

I believe there are rules to protect us in these situations.
An example is the property at 124 Glenmore Rd which had restrictions placed on road boundary planting to maintain the view because of its significant amenity value.
The same should apply to 146, -perhaps even more so, being a more extensive view.
I think it is important that we that we contact the council now to ask that they protect our community interest rather than hoping we can get the problem remedied later.

It's quite clear to see that a restriction on planting that would impact the view will not mean any loss of privacy for the Glovers.
Their new house compound is arranged in a way to maximise their privacy already and there is plenty of room for planting to add to that that would not effect the view.

Although this is something that I feel particularly strongly about, being a view I enjoy everyday, it is a community amenity and an aesthetic that is intrinsic to our country life in Coatesville.

Please let me know what you think.

Yours sincerely,
Tertia Wildy
