Subject: Land fill Glenmore RoadDear Bridget,
I am the editor of the local rag known as the Coatesville Chronicle and I have been inundated
with emails concerning a proposed landfill in Glenmore Road.
I am writing to ask you to make this application publicly notified as there is huge local concern about this proposal.
Firstly the company involved - Dirtworks- has a very poor reputation around here with many stories of
mess and disturbance and rule breaking circulating. Check them out,
there has been a big dispute ( with the council involved) on Sunnyside Road which has been going on for months,
and residents of Ridge Road have their houses shaken by a constant stream of heavy trucks. Some of whom ,
on shift work- airline pilots no less, are
unable to get a decent sleep during the day.
One of the main aspects I would like to stress is the safety of walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
This particular block is used daily by scores of people who use the block as a great training route,
as it takes about an hour to get round it and is full of steep sections and pretty scenery.
The Coatesville Classic is a big annual event here and hundreds of people enter this competition from across the city and come over here to train.
There are very long sections of Glenmore Road that have no pavement or footpath and walkers are forced to use the road.
The thought of great heavy trucks thundering by every few minutes would completely ruin these activities.
I am certain there will be a lot of submissions against this as the gullies are deep and wide and would takes ages to fill.
So please consider making this public because , knowing my community as I do , people are most unlikely to take this lying down!
