Hi, I would tend to agree with gguevarra in that architecture should take the lead. But, are you intending on creating 2 models (architecture and structure) or are you just creating the one model but want the elements split by disapline. if this is your intention then i would use a mix of the 2 and assign each building element to the specific disapline. In deciding what elements belong to what disapline, i tend to use the philosophy that if its load bearing or part or the building fabric needed to maintian the stability then its structural. if its just for the look of the building then its architectural.
I received a revit file for a building that is in the construction template. I would like to change it to an architectural template. I tried transferring project standards to a new project, but it only transferred over wall templates/details etc and not the building itself. I also tried copy/paste into a new project, but there were a bunch of errors that popped up when I pasted and it wouldn't let me click the check mark to complete the paste. Thanks so much!!
I am a Mechanical Engineer and recently I received an architectural revit model. I tried to design the MEP drawings but I experienced a series of difficulties. I am used to work in files created from a mechanical template, where the mechanical families are alrady imported in the project and the pipe/ductworks are generated automatically.
