Central Coast Rail Events this Weekend and in the Near Future

This Weekend – Tickets Still Available Online and at the Gate!

* SATURDAY, April 14th - “Disney’s Love of Trains” - SLO Railroad
Museum Fundraiser at the Santa Margarita Ranch. 4:00pm event to
include a presentation on Disney Railroad History by Michael Campbell,
President of the Carolwood Pacific Historical Society <http://
carolwood.com/>. Also, music by Don Lampson, food, drinks and train
rides on historical Disneyland Coaches pulled by the Ranch’s 1897
Porter steam locomotive <http://pcrailroad.blogspot.com/>. Details

be available at the gate.

Coming Soon:

* Sunday, April 22nd – “Railroads and Cabaret” - Cal Poly Faculty
Concert by Katherine Arthur and Susan Azaret Davies. The program will
feature Ernst Krenek's "The Ballad of the Railroads" which will be
accompanied by historical railroad projected images compiled by Jamie

* New Wine Rail Excursions will be added in the next week for the May

Saturday, May 12th - National Train Day (NTD). Basics below and more
details soon at <http://ccrrf.com/> and <http://

CCRRF will sponsor a NTD Family Train Excursion from Grover Beach to
SLO and Back on May 12th. Trip will include round trip tickets on the
Midday Pacific Surfliner, ice cream, kiddie railroad items and a visit
to the NTD events at the SLO Amtrak Station. Trip starts at the
Station Grill in Grover Beach and ends with free ice cream from Doc
Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab when climbing off the train at the Grover
Beach Amtrak Platform at the end of the trip.

CCRRF will also sponsor two NTD Wine Rail Excursions that weekend.
Both trips (Saturday, May 12th, and Sunday, May 13th) will start in
SLO. Details soon.

The Amtrak Station Host Organization will sponsor NTD activities at
the SLO Amtrak Station from noon until 4:00pm. The SLO Model Railroad
Association <http://slomra.org/> will display running models. Also
music, food and displays are being planned.

The Friends of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad along with the SMVRR,
UPRR, the City of Guadalupe, and more will be participating in a
Guadalupe NTD event centered at the Guadalupe Amtrak station: <http://
