Hi All,

My Granddaughter just came down here in coach from Eugene to LA, and she was told that she couldn’t get Wi-Fi except in the parlor car, which was off limits to her. Is that true? I just came down from Eugene a week ago in 1130 so I had Wi-Fi. I thought it was good for all on the train. Jim

The wifi init is (assuming it is operating, and that's only a 50-50 chance in my experience) only in the parlor car. I've been in the adjacent sleeper and gotten  a signal but as you move more than half a car or so away, it's weak. Coach wouldn't stand a chance as you have the diner in between.

WiFi coverage on the Surfliner goes throughout the train. Expect similar with the Coast Starlight in the future.

Thanks Charles. So, she is correct, and besides the Wi-Fi doesn't work all the
time. That's good to know. I didn't know that at all. Next time I won't take my lap
top at all.
I hope this situation improves. Jim
