Hey Folks,  I'm still around and riding the Coast Starlight occasionally.  Will be riding high speed rail in Germany in a week!  I'm not sure which email address you have for me but it is still working!  So - keep me in the loop.  Curtis Reinhardt

Jarrod is still here! Unfortunately I do not think the current Amtrak leadership is receptive in any way to groups like ours - especially with the current mode of cut Parlours, cut service, cut F&B, cut private cars, cut everything sleeper related. I think once a change in leadership is made, we'll be looking at another campaign to relaunch the train with added amenities again .... Sound familiar? lol!

Well, as one of the 2 co-founders of the organization, after spending literally hundreds of hours, thousands of dollars, and weeks worth of time onboard and on the ground in cities along the route on the previous relaunch of premium service, and then literally on day 2 Amtrak began removing the amenities that were added to the train, given the current environment at Amtrak, there isn't much chance of getting things changed. As soon as Anderson is removed from his position, I think we have a better chance at advancing this group's mission again. Even RPA (NARP) and RailPAC are not receiving positive responses from Amtrak leadership, if a response is sent at all and some letters have been received that pretty clearly said "take a hike - we aren't interested".  We have allies at Amtrak who are now in top level executive positions that will hopefully be willing to act once a new CEO is in place.

Well, I am just an occasional rider, who loves Amtrak, and especially this  particular train. And I sure hope you’re right. Since I am to anyone in an official capacity, I appreciate you and others, who pass on tidbits of information as to how the train is doing. Thanks so much.

Well. Maybe we need to start pushing again for new options for the Starlight. And even for other Amtrak Service. That share the same route with the Starlight.
If we don't start pushing again. Who is to say any of the Amtrak service will be safe from any politic and other attacks. Im sure if we did lose the Long distance Service.
We could easily lose the Corridor service too. And we need the Long Distance Service to help with getting Corridor Service. 

Right now. its tougher then hell to create service. Unless there is already existing service on that route. Its one of the reasons why we had many Corridor Trains along the Long Distance Routes. So I think we need to start to figure out what we can here. And with the Advocate Groups we are with.
