Van Nuys Amtrak Station improvements And Events coming up

Just to let everyone on here know.

 

 

The Van Nuys Amtrak Train Station is having it's ticket counter, lobby area, restrooms etc all remodeled.

 

 

It will all be finished by april 30th.

 

On April 30th, There will be a grand re opening event. With a Ribbon Cutting ceremony.

 

There will few Amtrak Officials from all over the Amtrak System there. Along with

Caltrans Division or Rail Officials. The event will start at 10am.

 

All on here that can make it. Are welcome to attend.

 

The second event will be a National Train Day event at the Station, On Saturday may 11th.

 

Amtrak Management wanted to host a smaller National Train Day event.

At the Station. To show off the new look to the Station.

 

Also note. the new look to the Station. Is a test to see how the new look goes. If it successful.

Amtrak will redo many other Amtrak Stations to the new look.

 

The Train Day event starts at 11am and will be finished by 3pm.

Thanks for the update!  That's great news!

(Of course, the real improvement the station needs to improve service in the corridor is a platform on the second main track.  Thankfully that project is progressing through environmental clearance and preliminary engineering as we speak.)
