Hello:

I hope everyone is having a good Summer!

I tried to look back on our emails, and I was unable to locate. Sorry to ask to repeat--- but what are our specs for the milestone piece?

Looking forward to our Sept 22 meeting!

Thank you,

Leslie

Thanks for posting this, Leslie,

My notes failed me, and my memory is worse :) -- so I need same specs.

Was there a problem with 11x14 not fitting on some people's presses?

As I recall the suggestion was a run of 50, so that there are enough to share/swap with other Guild members, plus some to keep and some to sell, perhaps at the Printers Fair. However, I don't think the number need be rigid: the key thing is to have enough to swap at our September meeting.

I don't recollect any problem raised here, but again I don't think the size need be a rigid requirement if it is problematic for anyone.

Since the image area won't be the total of the paper size, it shouldn't be a problem unless the only press available is under 8x12.

hello everyone,
I have been super busy lately, gratefully.

I recall a smaller number than 50 but agree that the most important is swapping with other participants and having extra to sell or give away as you choose. At the meeting where we talked about this idea everyone there said that the 11x14 size was good and exciting, although a stretch for a couple of us. If the size excludes anyone I think we should change it to encourage everyones participation. Claudia can't print that large but wants to do it so I will be printing hers on my Cylinder press. Her milestone story is very touching and meaningful.

with love,

Glad you've been busy, Norman!

I think a milestone should be by its very definition meaningful :)  Even a smaller press can handle am 11x14 if it has large margins-- I've used my 8x12 for that size, though now I don't own the 8x12.

I'm still mulling over the design phase. Work on our church history, and simultaneous plans for a room addition, have taken much of my time.
