VFS pilots and instructors have years of virtual flight experience and a considerable amount of virtual flying hours. In the early years, our team created and managed the military department of one of the largest Virtual Airlines in Italy, then was followed and supervised by a Military Pilot Lieutenant; this fruitful collaboration laid the foundations for the establishment of the new flight school.
Five years after its creation, VFS, thanks to a continuous and passionate path of commitment, study and operation, has made many steps forward and begins to communicate with other realities of virtual and real flight, with the intent to expand its community and Vision to become one of the landmarks of virtual military flight.
In the Virtua Fighter anime, Akira starts his quest to see the eight stars in heaven after he had gotten overconfident in his Bajiquan skills from his days training with his grandfather. He is often seen as a comedic glutton in the anime series, as opposed to the games where he is serious and disciplined. Akira Yuki and Jacky Bryant are partners in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. He appears in Project X Zone with Pai Chan as his partner, and returns in the sequel with Kage-Maru as his partner. He also appears as a guest character in Dead or Alive 5. He appears in Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax as a boss, as well as a playable fighter, with Pai as his assist, and was originally a non-playable final boss character in previous console release of arcade version, then eventually becoming a regular character in Ignition update. Akira subsequently appear in the Super Smash Bros. series, first appearing as a Mii Fighter costume, based on his original polygonal Virtua Fighter appearance, in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U as downloadable content (alongside a Jacky Mii Fighter costume based on the fifth game), then he appears as an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate while the Mii costume returns as downloadable content.
Taka-Arashi was added to the roster of Virtua Fighter 5 R, having had return to a Sumo world as a now seasoned fighter and eventually being invited back to the world tournament for its 5th course. This is his first appearance since Virtua Fighter 3. His stage is a larger-than-regulation dohyo, with a large audience.

El Blaze (エルブレイズ, Eru Bureizu) is a wrestler from Mexico who fights with Lucha Libre. His debut was in Virtua Fighter 5. With his lightning fast Lucha Libre fighting style, his reputation spread - finally reaching the J6 tournament judges. They were impressed with the way he defeated wave after wave of opponents in the light-heavyweight division. As he watched Wolf dominate the heavyweight division, he burned with envy and jealousy. He knew the only way to combat these feelings was to prove that he was truly the best fighter in the world and he quickly signed up for the Fifth World Fighting Tournament.
Jean Kujo (ジャン 紅條, Jan Kujō) is a French full-contact (Kyokushin) karate fighter and a brainwashed assassin for J6 who debuted in Virtua Fighter 5 R. He soon decides to target Lion Rafale specifically, unaware that they used to be childhood friends.
Siba (シバ, Shiba) (also known as Majid Abdul (マジドアブドゥル, Majido Abudouru)) is a prototype character from the earlier builds of the original Virtua Fighter who was removed prior to the game's release, and was replaced by eventual series mascot Akira Yuki. A portrait of his appeared alongside portraits of the remaining original Virtua Fighter cast on the arcade game's cabinets, though his name was mislabeled as "Akira".He is a Middle-Eastern fighter wearing a white and purple keffiyeh, a white shirt, a purple sash; green Arabian-style pants; and red sandals.[23] According to early beta screenshots and magazines, he was originally called "Siba", but had his name changed to "Majid Abdul" sometime during development before being scrapped altogether.
The game's story is about the dealings of the mysterious corporation, Judgment Six (J6) who holds the World Fighting Tournament as a front to create the ultimate fighter. A major recurring storyline in the game is with J6's involvement with some of the other competitors. Kage-Maru's mother, Tsukikage, is turned into Dural, the final boss of the series. Sarah and Vanessa are both kidnapped by J6, the latter used to make the newer version of Dural after Kage saved his mother.
Compared to other fighting game franchises, Virtua Fighter doesn't have much focus in its storyline. This is partially due to trying to make the combat mechanics more realistic and the depth in the characters' fighting styles as a whole and the moves they use. Virtua Fighter is known for the balance of its characters between each other. The series is also notable for being one of the few fighting game franchises to preserve its character roster throughout every entry, adding newcomers without removing any of the established fighters. The sole exception was Taka-Arashi, who was retired in Virtua Fighter 4 due to the difficulty of integrating the sumo wrestling style into the new engine, only to return in Virtua Fighter 5R.
Considering their legendary status in martial arts cinema, Shaolin monks are surprisingly rare guests in fighting games. Lei-Fei is here to change that, although he is described as kind of a villain, out to kill Lau because the Shaolin apparently want to exterminate his Tiger Swallow Style. Appropriately for a Shaolin fighter monk, he can switch between several fighting stances that allow different moves.
Matheson explained how simulators help Soldiers increase their precise lethality and survivability marksmanship skills required of infantry troops. On June 9, 1943 while escorting bombers at 3,000 feet over Pantelleria, four enemy fighters attacked the 99th from above. While five of the American fighters pursued the enemy, eight others stuck with the bombers. Despite the surprise attack by the Germans, the unit suffered no losses that day. This proved a good performance for a new squadron with no real combat experience going up against experienced enemy pilots.
On July 2, 1943 a dozen fighters of the 99th escorted medium bombers to Sicily on a morning mission. Over Sicily a mixed formation of German fighters approached the bombers. Some fighters stuck with the bombers while others attacked, engaging in a short dogfight. The American fighters regrouped. Two enemy fighters reappeared above as the bombers completed their attack. Lt. Charles Hall of the 99th turned into the attack to protect the bombers. He described the attack like this:
After this attack, Hall was separated from the rest of his unit and on his own. Enemy fighters dogged him for twenty minutes before giving up. Hall scored the first victory for the 99th after bringing down this enemy aircraft. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross from Gen. Dwight Eisenhower and received congratulations from Generals James Doolittle and Carl Spaatz. While Hall narrowly escaped death that day, some of his comrades were not as lucky. Lieutenants Sherman White and James McCullin went down at sea after a midair collision.
The Tuskegee Airmen of the 99th went on to acclaim with other squadrons of the 332nd Fighter Group. They covered the Allied landings in Sicily and Italy. They received newer and better fighter aircraft. Eventually, based in Italy, they became a well-recognized escort for the Fifteenth Strategic Air Force. While the U.S. military continued to be segregated throughout World War II, the actions of the 99th in the summer of 1943 over the Mediterranean paved the way for other African-American air combat units, and eventually an integrated military.
Shun Di is at his best when he is up close and personal with his opponent. His fighting style makes him very difficult to defend against, which allows him to deal plenty of damage while receiving very little himself. His varied move set makes him a difficult fighter to master and so he probably isn't the best choice for beginners.
Kage is a Japanese fighter who uses the fictional fighting style Hagakure-ryū Jū-Jutsu. Although fictional, there are many similarities between his style and the Japanese martial art Jūjutsu. He is the only fighter in the series' lore to have won two Virtua Fighter tournaments and has appeared in every game to date.
Kage's biggest strength is his speed, which allows him to excel both offensively and defensively. Unfortunately, his damage output is a little lower than other top-tier fighters, meaning that he'll need to chip away at his opponent's health rather than blowing them away with big moves. That said, his Ryūgakuha move can deal decent damage when at maximum charge.
Jeffry has appeared in all of the main series Virtua Fighter games and is one of the series' most iconic fighters. He's an Australian who fights using a fighting style known as Pankration. It combines elements of wrestling, boxing, & kicking and was once an event at the Olympic Games. According to an unused bio discovered in 2016, developers had originally planned to call him Willie before eventually settling on Jeffry.
