Dear Sisters, Brothers and Friends,  (Please excuse duplication.)

We cannot allow the verdict following the murder of Trayvon Martin  to stand as a signal to racists that it is now open season on young men of color.  We must speak out against racism and its traditional violence. One way to do this is for us to demand that the U.S. Attorney General take action to signal that this nation will not allow impunity for crimes against people of color based on racial stereotype, profiling, or bald faced racism.
Send your own message to Attorney General Eric Holder and raise the issue in your union or community organization – or any other group and demand that the federal government take action to reverse the travesty in Sanford, Florida.
The resolution below and attached by the South Bay AFL- CIO Labor Council in San Jose, California is one example of the labor movement speaking out for justice. Please do the same or do it your own way, but get it done.
