WANTED: PART-TIME RESEARCH ASSISTANT to work approximately 15 hours a week, preferably after 11 AM or in the afternoons, Tu Wed  Th or Friday) for Prof. Mencher and her small not-for profit organization, The Second Chance Foundation.  The work is at her home office on West 72nd Street. Work requires both office skills and computer skills as well as the ability to do a variety of things some of which may be exciting but some boring. Will also include End-noting and making telephone calls and helping her on blogs etc. . Tasks include: routine organizing and filing, working on contacts and brochure for The Second Chance Foundation,  going through material on sustainable agriculture and related issues with a focus on issues of food security in the US and India, especially South India.  Must be able to handle mail and email when Dr. Mencher is away. Any experience with not-for-profit organizations especially in South Asia a plus. 

Focus of work is on issues of sustainable agriculture and sustainable communities,  food security, the effects on ordinary people of global climate change,  with an emphasis on South Asia and women’s studies. Good people skills as well as some experience in blogging and developing a new blog also a plus, possibly even face-book. Must be able to, work legally in US. Salary depends on qualifications and experience.
