ABOUT REDR
RedR UK is the leading training and recruitment charity working in the area of international disaster relief. We provide training, consultancy and support to relief organisations and their staff around the world, improving emergency response and assisting people affected by disaster.

THE ROLE
RedR's programme in Pakistan aims to provide training on cluster coordination, security and humanitarian practices to NGOs throughout the country. It addresses training on different levels from foundation level training, to management training for senior level personnel in all three programme areas. The Programme Manager is directly responsible for programme development, team management, activity implementation, donor relations in coordination with the Country Director, general oversight of the operations of RedR in Pakistan. PERSON SPECIFICATION
. Excellent project management skills, including experience in budget monitoring and financial management procedures
. Demonstrated understanding of security, cluster coordination and best practice in the humanitarian sector through training experience or through research/ application in a previous role.
. Familiarity with humanitarian operations, backed up by relevant experience in complex emergencies.
. Knowledge in concept note preparation, proposal writing, budgeting and reporting, and an understanding of institutional donor requirements
. Previous experience of donors such as DFID, ECHO and USAID
. Experience in training preferably in safety/security related subjects, and experience of leading training schedules.
. Commitment to humanitarian relief and knowledge of the sector
. Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to adapt to different contexts
. Fluency in written and spoken English (and willingness to learn basic Urdu)
. Working experience in Pakistan would be advantageous

TERMS
Location: Islamabad, Pakistan
Contract: fixed term for 12 months
Salary: £26- 28,000 p/a (plus £2,200 hard to work allowance)
Closing date: 15 September 2010
Start date: ASAP
