All seven trustees were in attendance
Administered Oath of Office to Elected Board Members: Paul Dorsett
and Carol Barrett were sworn in.
Departing Trustees, Marc Chaloupka (12 years!) and Tim Jones were
thanked by each board member and were given a plaque. Board
secretary, Beth French, was also honored for her service.

Each school’s winner was honored. There was a tie in voting for the
district winner so two awardees were honored: Debbie DeFiore, of
Pebble Creek Elementary, and Tish Garza, of the Alternative Education
Program

announced: Erin Stutts, English teacher at AMC High School (and my
senior’s favorite teacher)

Charlotte Slack thanked those who worked on the bond election and on
helping build support for its passage. It pass by 71% support, and
was the largest school bond package passed in Texas during the May
2009 elections
Mary Broussard was congratulated on winning the Jefferson Award; she
will travel to Washington, DC next month for a related gathering.

Donna Adams gave a 10-minutes Ppt. presentation related to standard
for staff development & types of workshops which were held this year.
Consider responses to Request For Qualifications from audit firms
related to audit services for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2009.
Due to a coming transition in the Business Office (it sounds as though
Mike Ball is leaving), K-1 and K-2 businesses which have been used in
the past will be retained; for the following year a change is
recommended.

serve as the District’s depository bank for the 2009-2011 biennium

Consider approval of a resolution authorizing payment to employees for
work time missed due to the campus closure related to the H1N1 flu

Consider authorizing the purchase of Desktop and Laptop Computers for
Creek View Elementary, College Hills Elementary and A&M Consolidated
High School CATE Renovation through the Department of Information
Resources (DIR)

Consider authorizing the purchase of Smartboards for Creek View
Elementary and College Hills Elementary utilizing the Texas A&M
University Master Agreement

Consideration, discussion and possible action regarding declaring the
CSISD owned property at Barron and Victoria as the site for College
Station High School
Approved 7-0 – This caused applause and exclamations since it has been
so long in coming!
Consider approval of costs associated with moving construction
temporary buildings from the Creek View Elementary School site to the
property at the intersection of Barron Road and Victoria Avenue.

Consider adoption of Resolution Expressing official Intent To
Reimburse Costs of Projects Related to the 2009 Bond Program
Approved 7-0
The Board went into executive session at 9:00 p.m. to discuss
qualifications of new executive board nominees, and I did not stay for
the Open Session which was to continue afterwards.
