That's the problem of all Apple devices. I also have the same problem with Netflix on the iPhone. The volume is always too low, especially when you use apps. It's really so boring and I really can't understand why we users and owners of these devices cannot set the volume limit as we want.

I will add, however, I watch Netflix with just the built in speaker quite often and have never had a problem. If you have the iPad in a case, you could also try taking it out of the case. Could be partially blocking the speaker.

i have a simular issue i do use bluethooth headphones wired would make no sences for me anyways i tend to watch netflix at work just wondering if anyone found a way maybe to boost the volume? or maybe apple can try and step in and not let an update pass till the volume is rasied, or someone figured out the same old hack for the phat ipod WAAAAAAAYYYYYYY back when!?! lol

We understand that you wanted to manage your volume on your movie while watching, allow us to help you with that.
Movies and television shows can have a wide range of sounds, but using the volume modes on your compatible Roku streaming device lets you enjoy a more even listening experience. Switch to automatic volume leveling to hear more consistent audio levels across various types of entertainment, making it less jarring when a commercial comes on or while switching channels. Use Night Mode to reduce the volume level for louder scenes and boost it for quieter ones, letting you watch late-night TV without disturbing others.

All the best,

Thanks again to everyone for taking the time. I always get good advice here. Using Firefox with . I always have to crank up the sound volume past 100%. But after I move around a bit in Netflix the sound setting goes back to 100. This happens anytime I change anything in Netflix. Is there anyway to stop this from happening? Any assistance, most appreciated.

Unplug everything from the back of the cable box. Wait a minute or two. Plug it all back in. Let it reload. My sound came right back on. I have an lg. Smart tv and Im on direct tv. Had great sound for netflix. No sound for tv programs

If you have cable or satellite try unplugging everything connected to your cable or satellite box. Wait a minute or two, then reconnect. I had this same problem & it restored the sound on my TCL Roku TV. I have Spectrum cable.

I did not have tv sound, but Netflix sound on my TCV roku tv. I unplugged the HDM! cable and the power cord to the back of the cable box. I came back a few minutes later and plugged them both back in. Success!!

I'm experiencing very low volume on my MacBook Pro (running Snow Leopard) while using Netflix Instant Play. All of my other video sites are working fine, and my computer's volume is set to full. I've had the same problem on a Leopard MacBook Pro. Are there fixes within Netflix or for my computer itself that I can try?

It's been almost two years since the third volume of Unsolved Mysteries was released on Netflix, but now the hit docuseries is returning for another outing, with a release date having seemingly been revealed.

The current iteration of the series comes from the producers of Stranger Things, 21 Laps Entertainment, and previous episodes have looked at cases surrounding a woman and her daughter witnessing paranormal activity in their new apartment, an unsolved disappearance, and the circumstances surrounding the death of Buffalo Jim.

It's currently unknown how many episodes will be featured in the upcoming fourth volume, but it will join other upcoming Netflix documentaries including LALIGA: All Access and Skywalkers: A Love Story.

Volume Flutter impacts the Technical quality of an asset. Member experience will be negatively affected as plot-pertinent dialogue may be lost during volume flutters. Volume flutter could possibly be the creative intent. Any derivative of this mix will contain a volume flutter.

This is my maiden voyage on the good ship "Whirlpool" so take it easy on me if I stuff up.
For a few years now, I've been using the "WD TV live box" connected to my faithful old Sony Bravia 40 inch TV.
When watching Netflix movies with this set-up, I've always had a problem with very low audio volume and always had to crank the volume up to near maximum. I don't have a soundbar or home theatre system... just the TV speakers.

Recently, when bottom-feeding in the big screen TV market, I bought a "Hisense N6 55 inch smart TV" to replace my old TV and WD box.
I'm quite happy with the Hisense picture quality and I find the audio although, not great, is quite acceptable. I really like the "Netflix" button on the remote which makes switching to Netflix a breeze.
When watching Netflix movies, the low audio volume levels continues to be a problem... I have to crank up the volume to around the 100% mark to get reasonable sound volume.
.... and yes, I've experimented and tried all the regular suggested settings in the "sound" section of the TV and at the moment, I have the optimum setting.
The low sound volume has been an ongoing issue for Netflix for a few years... and despite numerous complaints world-wide, nothing has been resolved.
I've been trawling google looking for an answer but the issue seems to be in the too-hard-basket. The usual reply is to get a soundbar or home theatre system.

Thanks NeoG,
yes, I've tried all of those setting tweaks and If you google this issue, it's not just me that's having the problem.
....and yes, a soundbar may possibly be the way to go, but isn't that just a "band-aid" solution ?
Why not fix the problem instead of treating the symptoms ?.... and it seems to always land back in Netflix's court ?

and thanks to you Frantic Fred.
Yes, I've experimented with all of those sound settings as suggested by many on the internet..... disabled "smart volume", "auto volume" and the like and it does indeed influence the audio output but only whilst watching regular free-to-air TV and DVD playback.
Netflix movies have no change or improvement in the low audio volume levels.

I can't speak for Netflix and any technical hurdles they may be experiencing with the sound volume, and neither can most people. So there's no real way to know if it can or will ever be fixed internally.

The issue was still present regardless of if I was outputting to a AV Receiver via HDMI or fibre. It also was present on other apps/video sources (though harder to find a broken example on Youtube). The Sony wouldn't pass through some 5.1 anyway, I put it down to bad coding of a common trasncoding routine.

Thanks guys & gals for all of your suggestions.
I've found a workaround thanks to the suggestion by Frantic Fred.
Although I've been looking into the Netflix app on my Hisense TV, I couldn't find any way to change the audio output from 5.1 to stereo.
Through trial and error, I started to watch a netflix movie and whilst it was playing, I pressed the "OK" button or the "up" arrow button.... it then pauses the playback and shows a tiny "audio options" box at the top left of the screen.
When I clicked on this "audio options", it brought up lots of different audio output settings and languages.
I found the "English 5.1" and immediately below it was "English original" which is 2 channel stereo.
I selected the "English original" option and now my audio volume is louder.
Only catch is, it has to be done manually for each individual movie but that's not a big deal.
woo-hoo !.... a happy ending !

Thank you for posting this thread. I was having the same issue with my Sony Z9D and headphones. Changing to English original from English original 5.1 through TV Netflix app has improved volume and clarity dramatically ! Very happy now :)

Last night I put on the Netflix movie for my daughter through my Denon avr and noticed i had to turn up the wick to -25 on the Denon to be of accepptable volume. It was a 5.1 signal. Would this be normal? Still don't have a disc player for the Z9D so can't compare volume levels.

Their volume and the ideas on how it would work had to be created from scratch, but that had some advantages. They could take what had happened elsewhere and make it better, evolving it for themselves and others in the future. That meant experimentation, innovative additions like a turntable within the staging to allow for different angles, fast reverse shots, and the ability to bring in real-world SFX like rain. These were the first examples of those in the world of volume.

While the Berlin site set about constructing Dark Bay Studio, which would hold the volume, the crew decamped to London to learn how to shoot in such a new environment, albeit a smaller version set up just for them by their VFX vendor Framestore. While they went through their process and how practically they would make 1899, someone jokingly said they needed a turntable so they could take reverse shots quickly.
