The Refrigerator and Freezer Energy Rating Search Tool allows you to discover the estimated energy consumption ranges of these appliances for the U.S. consumer market. The tool provides the ability to search various appliance brands, types, model numbers, years manufactured, and more.

Follow these steps to discover the energy rating of refrigerators and freezers produced for the American consumer market.

To begin your search, fill in the search parameter descriptors for the appliance:

When typing in the letters portion of the model number of the refrigerator or freezer, use only capital letters. If you are not sure of a letter or number of the model, just type in as many characters as you are able to recall. If the model number begins with a plus sign (+), leave that character off. The model number can be found by checking on the nameplate. The nameplate is usually found inside the food storage compartment or near the floor on the front frame. The Year Manufactured option is optional but helps to refine the search even if the year entered is not exact. Not all models are included in the database. The database includes models that are greater than 10 cubic feet in size.

Special thanks go out to Mr. Jim Cavallo for his many years of work maintaining the original design of this database in an online website, and the U.S. Department of Energy standard's offices for providing updated appliance databases.

The Refrigerator and Freezer Energy Rating Database Search Tool allows you to discover the energy rating of these appliances for the U.S. consumer market. The tool provides the ability to search various appliance brands, types, model numbers, years manufactured, and more.

The tab/sheet titled "OutputSheet" will be updated with a list of most closely matching models, with their size, year of manufacture, and energy rating. Click "Ok" on any message boxes that may appear during the process.

So you are in the market for a used Traulsen refrigerator or freezer and have no idea how to figure out the age of the unit. This is a very common issue. The reach-in looks nice and clean, but some consideration should always be be made to the age of the unit. While this is important, the past location of the unit and the care it received are much more important factors than the age. The Traulsen compressors and sealed systems can easily last for 20 years, but if they are not maintained, the components can be overworked which can shorten the life of the unit. Reach-ins don't usually have service records like automobiles, but if you can see the location they were used or even the establishment, you can get a very good idea of how they were treated.

The first thing we look for is the condition of the condenser. If this is clean and the fins intact, there is a good chance that this was maintained very well. If the unit is still in its location, check to see that there is substantial air-flow around the components which can either be bottom or top mounted. If the unit struggles to breath, the components will be stressed and not last as long. Of course check for rust or any signs of repair to the copper lines as well. Lastly is the age. Luckily Trauslen does code their units to be able to decipher the serial numbers.

Install your Avantco product indoors on a strong, level surface in a well-ventilated area. Select a location away from heat and moisture-generating equipment. The unit should be plugged into an outlet of the appropriate voltage. Be sure to check the manual to see if your product requires its own dedicated outlet and to determine appropriate clearance. Do not use extension cords.

Uneven surfaces may cause poor performance or excessive noise. Avantco refrigerators are not tested for use outdoors. Malfunction due to high ambient temperatures, humidity, or an improperly maintained condenser coil will void the warranty.

No, all refrigerators and freezers should be shipped in an upright position. During delivery, the product may be tilted on its side to pass through doorways, if needed. If the unit is tilted during delivery, allow it to sit for 24 hours before plugging in. This will allow the refrigerant to settle.

All Avantco refrigerators ship with a right-hinge door design. Select Avantco models can be converted from a right-hinge door to a left-hinge. Instructions for performing a hinge reversal can be found in your product manual. All Avantco beer coolers are sold with an included D system coupler. You will need to obtain a CO2 tank, CO2 regulator, and gas hoses prior to installation. While our distribution partners sell compatible regulators and gas hoses, you will want to consult a local beer supplier or your installer to determine the proper CO2 tank size needed for your business.

A number of factors can contribute to fogging and condensation within your Avantco Refrigeration product. When choosing the best location for your refrigerator or freezer, it is important to consider humidity in addition to accounting for ambient temperatures and ventilation. The proper humidity level for your space should be around 45-50%, as measured by a hygrometer. Opening and shutting the equipment frequently or a clog in the evaporator drain pan can also cause condensation.

We are happy to check the warranty status for you. The original order number with the company where the unit was purchased will serve as your proof of purchase. All warranties run from the date of arrival at your location.

Contact your authorized dealer for warranty assistance on models that have an item number beginning with 360 (e.g. 360ADC4HC). Please have your model number, serial number, and original order number as proof of purchase.

Equipment with an item number that begins with a number other than 360 (e.g. 178SS2FHC or 193BC48HCB) includes a 5-year warranty on the compressor part only. Should your compressor fail within this period, obtain a diagnosis by a licensed technician and submit a claim through Ready Kitchen Warranty to arrange shipment of a new compressor part. For units outside of the parts and labor warranty, customers are responsible for covering service fees associated with the diagnosis and installation of the new compressor.
