Chinese-American Oceanic Atmospheric Association Southern California
Chapter (COAA SCC) cordially invite you and your families to celebrate
together the 2009 Chinese New Year (year of ox) on Jan 31, 2009 from
11:30 am - 2:30pm at the Zen Buffet Restaurant (5449 N. Rosemead
Blvd., San Gabriel, CA 91776, 626-285-9595).

Besides a variety of delicious food, the program includes new year
greeting from Prof. Kuo-Nan Liou (UCLA), an interesting talk by Dr.
Jonathan Jiang (JPL) entitled "An Astronomer's perspective of Earth
Sciences", introduction of COAA SCC members and new Executive
Committee (EC) members, door prize drawing and Karaoke. The seating is
limited. Please reserve yours asap.

The restaurant charges $17 per person ($9 for kids under 10) for the
lunch buffet. COAA SCC decided to cover part of the cost. We will
collect $12 per person for members, $15 for non-members, and $7 for
children (10 years old and younger). Don't miss this great opportunity
to socialize with your colleagues and fellow Chinese-American friends
and families.

Please reserve your seat with the COAA SCC EC member in your
institution. We encourage you to provide your brief biography (such as
school where degree was awarded, birth place, picture, etc) to the
COAA SCC EC member in your institution for group introduction. If
there is no EC member in your institution, please send your
information to Prof. Yongkang Xue at yx...@geog.ucla.edu.
