Please read the email below from Daryl Branson, CO PUC. He is requesting volunteers for a committee to provide preliminary advice to the CO 9-1-1 Resource Center's Board for a limited-scope statewide NG9-1-1 GIS data project.
Vendors are welcome as they may have valuable input on the process and parameters, though this is not an opportunity for sales pitches and no decisions will be made by the committee. Those will come later after the Board makes its choices for getting started on the project.
9-1-1 Advisory Task Force Participants:
As many of you know, the Colorado 9-1-1 Resource Center was awarded up to $500,000 to fund a GIS project in preparation for further NG9-1-1 implementation, including geospatial routing. The first step in implementing this project will be to determine how we want to move forward in terms of soliciting a vendor and what the precise scope of work should be. Yesterday, I volunteered to form an ad hoc committee of the Resource Center to advise the Resource Center on this issue, and I can't think of a better pool of professionals to participate on this committee than this email list.
If you are interested in being part of this committee, please let me know. Next week, I will send out a scheduling poll to everyone who is interested to find a time for us to have our first meeting.
Thank you,
