SUMMARY
To ensure quality service by conducting operations at the City of Golden
Recreational Facilities including the Golden Community Center, Splash
Aquatic Park (seasonal) and assisting with daily operations at the Clear
Creek Campground.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.

Golden Community Center and Recreation Facilities
Handle monetary transactions which include daily admissions, memberships,
punch cards, and class registrations.

Answer phones, provide information, and answer a variety of questions.

Provide essential information to market recreational facilities such as
facility memberships, classes, and rentals.

Rent and check out equipment.

Enforce facility rules and policies. Conduct facility inspections as
required.

Assist in other divisions of facility (i.e. custodial, weight room, etc.) as
needed.

General administrative duties to include light typing, reports, and data
entry.

Assist with building supervision.

Other duties may be assigned.

Splash Aquatic Park (Seasonal)
Handle monetary transactions which include daily admissions, annual passes,
punch cards, and general merchandise sales.

Answer phones, provide information, and answer a variety of questions for
guests.

Provide custodial assistance as needed.

Other duties may be assigned.

Campground Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with check-in, registration, and presentation of park/pet rules as
requested. Assist guests with directions and activity ideas.

Place messages for campground personnel on reminder forms to assure
completion of tasks.

Maintain literature racks inside and outside office; maintain filing system
and general office appearance.

Run daily opening reports, verify guest checkouts and amounts due; run daily
closing reports to ensure balance of books.

Enforce, in a pleasant manner, park rules and policies.

Collect money from change machine, pop machine, and washers/dryers. Ensure
that pop machine stays full.

Assist with grounds keeping and maintenance as requested (i.e. trash
pick-up, flower bed upkeep, etc.).

Make suggestions for improvements as appropriate.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of
customer service and cash handling experience. Experience working with
youths and experience working at a recreation facility preferred. Knowledge
of RecTrac software helpful.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence,
and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively
present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers,
clients, and other employees of the organization. Excellent customer
service, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and
written communication skills. Ability to utilize tact when enforcing center
policies. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to
compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems
involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
CPR, first aid and AED certification desired.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of personal computer, cash handling, and keyboard. Ability to
complete tasks simultaneously.

MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED
Personal computer, cash drawer, phones, adding machine, P.A. system, I.D.
camera, copy machine, and fax machine.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required
to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The
employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The
employee is occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The
employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and
ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is primarily in an indoor setting. The noise level in
the work environment is usually loud.
