Solar City a scam?

Solar City seems to be running some kind of leasing scam for solar panels.

They had a table at Home Depot, took my address and info, then told me that
our roof doesn't get enough sun! This is a south facing roof that is NEVER in
the shade! I've lived here 7 years! NEVER shaded!

Wonder what their scam angle is!

I worked in solar for a time...and I cannot tell you how many homes I visited that were "never shaded!...NEVER!". in fact, anytime someone says "my roof is never shaded" well that's someone who doesn't look at their roof.
The other issue is orientation, if your roof line runs N-S, your roof surfaces face east-west...you will NOT qualify for a solar city or any other lease because your production is cut almost in half. It's very difficult to make an E/W facing roof profitable.
oh, and solar city is definitely a scam.
