Hello David, Jim, and Ian,  

I'm a CCLer from DC working closely with the Labor Outreach Action Team. As part of the Senate campaign, we're working to make sure that every Senator who has received significant donations from the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) is aware of the AFT national endorsement of the EICDA so that they can use it to its fullest impact.

I'm reaching out because we are currently working on a Twitter campaign that will target key senators on the senate finance committee who receive AFT endorsements to let them know that AFT national has endorsed carbon pricing and to urge them to include carbon pricing in the reconciliation bill. We plan to have a 'lead tweeter' tweet to these senators on predefined dates over the next few weeks and then have CCLers retweet and like those tweets. I have included some of the example tweets below for reference. 

Would you be able to connect us with constituents from Colorado who can be lead tweeters for our campaign? We are targeting Senator Michael Bennet on 8/26, so we need a person from Colorado lined up by early next week.

Here are some example tweets (280 character limit):

• Thank you, @[Sen. X], for supporting teachers and unions. @AFTunion, one of the largest teachers unions in the U.S., endorses a #PriceOnCarbon. I urge you to include a carbon price in the #BudgetReconciliation package currently being discussed in the Senate. 

• .@AFTunion is a supporter of @[Sen.X] and endorses a #PriceOnCarbon. I urge @[Sen.X] to listen to your supporters and include a price on carbon in the #BudgetReconciliation package to reduce emissions and save lives.

• Or insert other short carbon price benefit if it fits. 

• Thank you, @[Sen. X], for supporting the teachers and education employees at @AFTunion. AFT endorses a #PriceOnCarbon - please include it in the #BudgetReconciliation package currently being discussed in the Senate to reduce emissions and save lives
