Hello esteemed colleagues,

I’m doing a presentation for the D49  Dual Language Advisory Council on the struggles multilingual students have in US schools as they are learning English and missing out on their content learning.   There is a solution to the problem and we in D49 are proactive and taking the right steps.  The solution is Dual Language Programs.

I made a video of the presentation and I would love for you to review it.  It has some important information in it on why multilingual students are unique learners and why, across the nation, they are scoring so poorly on national and state assessments.  At the end of the presentation I talk about the Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona and his philosophy that all US students should become multilingual.

Let me know what you think.
Thanks so much!
