The League is trying something new this fall--An informal get together at the Finger Lakes Tasting Room.  We especially want to meet new people who may be interested in finding out more about the League.  Please share this event with friends and contacts; better yet, make a personal invitation and bring someone with you.  

We have lots of exciting programs and studies planned in addition to a forum for the candidates for Cortland County Sheriff and the long-delayed informational forum on the health and economic impacts of the Ash for Trash proposal.  We will need all the active members we can recruit to take advantage of these opportunities.  LWVUS is organizing a study of Money in Politics that we would also like to participate in.

Hi Charlotte,

Because we are in the process of trying to sell our home in order to move closer to medical facilities in Syracuse, we have dropped out of local commitments.  We support the LWV and your continuting efforts to make the world and Cortland a better place.  At this point, the bottom has dropped out of our selling and buying markets, so we remain in limbo.

Hi Mary and Niels,

So sorry to learn we will be losing you and you will be missed.  Best wishes for your selling your house.   Hoping your health issues are not getting more serious.  I've had a miserable summer - too many health problems but guess some of that comes with old age. I'm buying a very small ranch in Homer very close to my son and his family who just moved there.  They looked for a house with an in-law apartment for me but those (other then 1 or 2 rooms) are hard to find.   Now to sell my house!  If no luck I'll rent the one in Homer and put my house on the market next spring. 

Would be great if you could make the LWVCC social time this Tuesday, 5: to 6:30, at the Wine Tasting room downtown Cortland.  It would give us the chance to wish you well.
