Hi Gretchen and Amy-

One our last call, I mentioned getting feedback from our group on our level 1 draft.   I'm wondering if you could share with the group for their input???

I welcome everyone's input on my evaluation draft for Liberty Resources.   We're testing using Survey Monkey vs. paper.   Classes vary from Characteristics of Disabilities to Effective Leadership to CPR and First Aid.

I caught part of the discussion on Likert Scales.  I have language vs. numbers and welcome everyone's input overall.

Many thanks!
Ingrid

Last week, we had a lively discussion about the CNY ASTD Level 1
evaluation. We started our meeting by reviewing some best practices
for creating Level 1 surveys.  Next, we reviewed our current Level 1.
Then, we rolled up our sleeves and discussed what we liked about our
current survey and what we think could be improved. As a result, the
CNY ASTD Level 1 survey will be tweaked to reflect some of our
suggestions!
Thanks to all who attended last week! We had a good turnout for our
first virtual meeting!

Happy summer to all! We'll be back in touch regarding our next meeting
in the late Summer/early Fall.

Ingrid,

Here's my .02 - Eval not my strongest suit but I've done enough of
them over time.

* Be wary of the double subject. For example what if the
participant found the workshop to be "clear" but not "easy" - how
would they answer? Same for "discussions" and "activities" question.

* Engaged is also a term that leaves me wanting. It's a
personal thing as when I hear it; I'm not sure what is being sought
after - is it about having their attention?

* I think there are pros and cons to 5 choice scales. The
fact is that yes, someone might feel indifferent and thus the choice
of "neither this or that" should be there. The con is it may be used
as a safe cop out from making a tough choice. I usually go with 4
choices and will include an NA if the content warrents it.

* "How will you you apply what you learned" - I'd be curious
of a few other things - such as 1. If they will apply it. (If not, why
not) 2. What specifically will be applied-3. When will it be applied

Sorry, that's all I have as it looks as though your setting preclude
me from re-entering the survey and I can't recall what was on the
pages after page 1

Hope this helps :)
