I was thinking about this question that was raised at the Narrowing
session, and I agree that this is one of the main reasons that
teachers hesitate to incorporate skills like critical thinking,
creativity, problem solving, etc. I do think, however, there are
"pockets" of teachers who are successfully integrating these skills
and the state curriculum, and their students are showing proficiency
on the assessments. So what if we were able to use this resource to
"share" those successes across districts (i.e. "I have an Algebra II/
Trig teacher who is doing..."; "Does anyone know of a French teacher
who is...")? Just a thought...
