Avoid Ag Blend Soil at Green Tree In Ithaca

I took a chance on a pallet of Ag Blend potting soil at Green Tree (Biochar, Bio 365) and it was a big mistake.  I wanted to warn everyone against this product.

The blend was clearly inferior to VT Compost and McEnroe's, with poor germination and undernourished seedlings.  There were also weed seeds, a sedge, perhaps even nutsedge (!) in the bags.  I have had to amend this mix with large quantities of 5-4-3 and blood meal.

I like to have bagged soil for my winter microgreens and will be going back to McEnroe, in addition to buying more VT Compost.
