Consider the case of Helen Ukpabio. She's a Nigerian Pentecostal
preacher who rants and raves about witches, especially those wicked
children who are agents of Satan.
Here's one of the movies she's made -- "End of the Wicked" -- showing
these kids doing what evil kids do, flying through the air, cursing
good Christians, drinking blood, et cetera, et cetera.

If your kid is acting like this, you can have them exorcised by Helen
Ukpabio's ministry -- for a price.
Of course, it may be the case that *your* kid is a witch, but is much
more subtle than this. Thankfully, Helen has some useful diagnostic
tools to help you determine when Satan's around, even when he's being
sneaky. To quote the video:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
a child under two years of age that cries at night and deteriorates in
health is an agent of Satan.

Really?
Considering that witch hunts are displacing hundreds and hundreds of
kids in Africa as parents kick them out of their good, Christian
homes, this might prompt the compassionate among us to pray
fervently. After all, this woman appears to be contributing to a
mindset that is not only false -- it's doing damage to the name of
Christians and Christ. We don't want to see any more children beaten
to death, set on fire, or suffer from having battery acid thrown in
their faces. No one knows how many kids are dying from this;
estimates hang around a thousand per year. But it's a shame all that
is happening so far away, really -- in an entirely different country,
where they fail to see the light of reason, where they're unreachable
despite their heinous practices. If only we could do something more
direct to stop this!
You're in luck. This time, you can actually get *personally
involved*. Helen Ukpabio is coming to the United States this March,
thanks to the invitation of Glorious Praise Ministries of Houston,
Texas.

That's right. An infamous Nigerian witch-hunter, using faith as a
fulcrum to leverage fear and hatred and suffering, is coming to Texas
to raise money. And it's sponsored by American Christians.
I wish I had the words to express my anger, frustration, and dismay.
I'm just boggled by this... that she was *invited* by *Pentecostal
Christians* in *Texas*. To gain *financial support*.
If you think this inappropriate, too, consider looking at what you can
do to support a protest:

Or consider supporting Stepping Stones Nigeria, an organization
dedicated to stopping this sort of violence against children:

It's a secular organization, but the important thing is supporting
righteousness, not supporting the people who use the same religious
buzzwords that we do. Right?
Right?
I'm kind of ashamed that I can't find *any* American Christian
organizations protesting this woman or attempting to help Nigerian
kids from these witch hunts(1). If you find something, please let me
know.
=sigh= There's a reason people like this victimize the weak: they
can't fight back.
Addendum: Googling this, I find that this isn't the first time she's
been welcomed to the US; she was welcomed by the same organization
back in May 2010:

... and people started making noise about her misdeeds even back then:

(1) So let me get this straight: If you kill an unborn fetus, American
Evangelical Christians will openly wish that someone would put a
bullet to your head. If you are directly responsible for killing
kids, American Evangelical Christians will invite you to come over and
attempt to raise money for your practices. Does that seem *seriously
messed up* to *anyone*?
Frankly, in my mind, it would be more appropriate to call the Hague
Convention and get the black helicopters warmed up. This woman has
committed crimes against humanity; she needs a noisy, public trial and
conviction (if guilt can be proven).
